I’ve had this post sitting in my draft-box for ages!!! So long in fact that I’ve had to go in and edit it twice in order to be able to post it. In 2014 an very welcome announcement was made that us Saffa’s can finally purchase EOS Lip Balm Bubbles in South Africa, beauties all around South Africa heard that announcement with angels singing in the background. Thankfully I was lucky enough to receive these in a present from the US before they hit our shores… For those of you who would like to get your hands on them, they are pricey but they are also amazing and last ages I will leave details of the stores at the bottom of this post.
EOS lip balm is 95 percent organic, 100 percent natural, paraben and petrolatum free, they are packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing Shea butter and jojoba oil. EOS keeps your lips moisturized, soft and sensationally smooth. Did you know that EOS stands for Evolution Of Smooth? Well, that’s just how your lips will feel after applying. As if they couldn’t be any better they also have a broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and all the flavours apply clear, making them a perfect primer to use under a lipstick.
While the bubble has recently become the ‘go-to’ packaging for lip balms, at first these balms had a lot of curious, questioning looks that is until celebs showed us how it’s done. The bubble has a twist off top and the balm lies in a 3-dimensional semi-circle on the bottom half of the bubble, this shape helps to precisely glide the balm onto your lips. The range includes a wide range of flavours and colours including Medicated Tangerine, Pomegranate Raspberry, Blueberry Acai, Coconut Milk, Lemon Drop, Sweet Mint, and more.
I love mine!! They are great balms which keep your lips moisturized without having to worry about ingesting harmful chemicals and other products. They also last forever(!!) literally, I apply mine all the time and it has lasted me well over a year, I don’t know if you would be able to find another product that would be able to last that long.
EOS is available from Hashtag Awesome and The Bikini Club, as mentioned they are pricey with single bubbles retailing for roughly R90. If you think that price is rough they were retailing for extortionate prices when I was in Germany and Ireland in January, think €15ish!
