I’ve said it a few times but seriously my life has been so hectic that I haven’t had a chance to post about some of the amazing happenings and products that I’ve been told about, tried and attended. I’m so sorry… I’m hopefully back now and will be a lot more diligent with my posting… and now on to one of the most luxiourous places to be… The Oyster Box Hotel.

The Oyster Box has an exciting line-up of EVENTS & ENTERTAINMENT coming up, every month they ‘put on a show’ with excquisite events that thrill all people. There is literally something for everyone, foodie experiences, theater, comedy & guest speakers in addition to having an award winning Spa and Restaurants on the property.

Throughout the month of October our High Tea, will be pin-themed  in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  R10 per person attending High Tea in October, will be donated to CANSA.

Executive Chef at sister hotel, the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa in Cape Town, Christo Pretorius is our guest chef in November. For the five course food and wine paired evening he will showcase Cape Malay spices and flavours using KZN’s local ingredients.

Leading up to the festive season The Oyster Box welcomes back Cat Simoni. Already a firm favourite with Oyster Box patrons, Cat will take you on a musical journey, revealing the woman behind ‘the iconic Voice’. Often referred to as the “First Lady of Song” and the “Queen of Jazz”, Ella was a notable interpreter of the Great American Songbook.

The Oyster Box hosts fabulous South African chef and author of a number of popular cook-books including Abundance, Delectable and Sumptuous, Marlene van der Westhuizen for a delicious lunch and the launch of her new book, Secrets of A French Kitchen. Van der Westhuizen invites you to steal a glimpse into the inner workings of her fiftieth cooking class in the French village of Charroux. Along with 80 new recipes, follow Marlene and her class as they lift the veil on the understated glamour of French country cooking, eating and living.

The hottest spot in town, The Oyster Box offers live entertainment every day of the week.  The Lighthouse Bar is open daily for cocktails and snacks, with live music from Wednesday to Friday (18h30 – 21h30), from Durban duo,Zaffa.

Sit back and enjoy live music each evening (18h30 – 21h30) from Monday to Friday, in The Oyster Bar.

Wallace Nock entertains on Saturdays from 12h00 – 15h00 and songstressAmy White from 12h00 -15h00 on Sundays, in The Ocean Terrace. An a la carte menu as well as the popular Curry Buffet is served in this casual venue and it’s the perfect spot for breakfast and sundowners.

    • It is a great hotel and has some of the most wonderful views out over the sea. It should definitely be in any-ones bucket lists for things to do in Durban. 🙂
