Most of us, if not all of us know what healthy eating is, the phrase ‘5-a-day’ should ring some bells as should “Got Milk?” We as humans are able to choose what we want to eat, when we want to eat it and subconsciously we know when we are eating non-nutritious food and nutritious food.
Now, what about the animals in your house? Do you know what vitamins and minerals your animals should be getting? Do you change the types of food you give them?? I can tell you honestly, I don’t. I trust that whatever kibble or pellets I give my dogs or in this case my cats have all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients for their well being.
Tilly, more interested in her food than where it actually came from and Petra seems to be more interested in where it came from (and yes I did have to bribe Petra to get this photo)
Tilly (aka Tilly-the-rat-catcher) and Petra (who by the way was found playing with a snake in the house a few days ago) are fussy with their food, I hear that cats mainly are though, Petra likes to eat a little at a time while Tilly shoves it all in and then comes looking for more. One of the problems that we have had with the cats has been uterine/ bowl infections – or at least thats what we’ve been told they are. And so every so often the cats need to go on ‘the more expensive food’ which is in fact Hills Pescription food. The wonderful thing about this food is, it’s filled with vitamins, minerals and other good things that keep the cats full, assist with normal functioning of their organs and make them happier – there is nothing in an animal owners life more upsetting than a sad animal, they can’t talk or tell you what the problem is, you feel helpless and have to put your hopes in the people at the Vet, hosptial or in the changes to the food that you make.
