Events: East Coast Radio House and Garden Show

One of the biggest events on the Durban social calendar is the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show. I have been attending the show since I was a small child and I seriously thought that the ‘flasher’ man was really naked. (It’s actually a mannequin that is there, in the same place, every year.)

This year, I’m lucky enough to have free week day tickets because of taking part in the East Coast Radio Big Walk. And am looking forward to seeing what is new at the show.

This year the show is separated into color categories, and attendees are encouraged to choose their color at the show; (paraphrased from the website)

Orange is for kitchens for the ladies (and modern men) these exhibits will help you turn your tired old kitchen into a spruced up new model with tasteful touches and expert advice,.

Yellow is for food and features even more food exhibits especially created for the growing interest in budding Durban foodies.

Red is for Kids where children accompanying parents can have a fun safe and entertaining time while their parents enjoy the shopping and inspiring vibe at the Show.

Purple is for design with decor specialists in the main hall and the Homegrown design area where Show goers get a chance to see design inspiration to transform living spaces.

Blue is for the DIY enthusiasts.

Green represents the garden.

I’m super excited to see what new options there are in the Homegrown Pavillion, last year I loved walking around seeing all the creatives goodies on offer. AND HELLO!! a special section just for food sounds amazing, I’m going to be sure to check this section out… and possibly walk around and around snacking on any available goodie.
