iHeart Market – September

Yeah! Tomorrow is iHeart Market. I’m planning on heading down there to pick up a prize that I won off Nadia’s blog, so I’m very excited to do that.
Also there is always yummy things to eat, and beautiful things to see at iHeart… perhaps Seeps and I will even do something different.

Here is the poster for this month’s iHeart;

MKT 54-2So If you’re not from Durban you are probably wondering what is the big deal about iHeart market. iHeart Market is a market that is usually held the first week of every month at the Imbizo Lawns at Moses Mabhida Stadium, it has become one of the most popular markets in the Durban area, if not THE most popular market. Previously the market was held at the DLI Hall in Greyville but they out grew that venue, the one amazing thing about iHeart is that they strive to have earth friendly, LOCAL, goods and products; for instance Loophole Flatbread serves all their flatbreads on wooden boards that are then sent back to the table for claim a deposit.

I will admit that the market has an incredible #hipster following, you will see pretty much all kinds of hipsters and hippy’s while you are there. I’m surprised at times by the fact that I haven’t been instagrammed or run over by somebody on a long board or had my eye poked in my someone dancing around and raving about the delicious macaroons. It is a lot of fun though, and although I find that some of the items on sale are rather expensive, there is a large market for those items and people LOVE them.

Make sure if you are in Durban that you look up iHeart next time. It’s a great market and you shouldn’t miss out!
